We’re here when you need us
One of the ways Foresters enriches the lives of our members, their families and their communities is by offering complimentary member benefits that can help to ease the financial burden that comes with some of life’s unexpected challenges. That’s why emergency grants are available to Foresters members to provide short term, temporary financial assistance to members affected by significant personal hardship, disaster or large-scale emergency. This benefit is a one-time, per disaster payment of $300.
While of course we hope that no one is ever faced with an emergency, we are proud to have been there to help out during some very difficult times in the lives of our members. From flooding and wildfires in California, to tornados in Ontario and the South Eastern United States, to hurricanes and tropical storms in Virginia and Maryland, and snowstorms in Buffalo, New York – we have been there with emergency grants to help our members cope in the immediate aftermath.
We have also been able to financially support the Red Cross during major international disasters. In 2011 we donated $25,000 to the Red Cross to aid in relief efforts following the earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan, and in 2013 we were able to send $25,000 to the Red Cross in the wake of the deadly typhoon in the Philippines.
