Foresters is, first and foremost, a fraternal benefit society. That means we are governed by our members for their benefit and for the benefit of their beneficiaries. So when you buy life insurance from Foresters, you become a member of an organization that provides many complimentary benefits. Foresters is more than just a life insurance provider. Our focus is on you and on the well-being of your family and the community in which you live.

That’s why we offer benefits like The Emergency Assistance Program. This actually encompasses two member benefits: Benevolence and Disaster Relief. Today, we’d like to give you more information on your Disaster Relief benefit.

Disaster Relief provides grants to members who are affected by disaster or large-scale emergencies such as tornadoes, flooding, fires, hurricanes and earthquakes. Disaster Relief is only available when enacted by the Membership Department for a specific geographic area and for a specific period of time. For example 571 members were assisted during Hurricane Sandy in the United States.

To be eligible for Disaster Relief you must be a member in good standing and living within the designated geographic area. Grants are given on a once per household per incident basis.One of the most important things in life is knowing that your family is secure. Foresters helps to take care of your family financially.1
